| March 6 | Ladies Only Spring Fling To coincide with “Women’s Work: Memory and Desire”, the current exhibition at the Art Center, this Ladies Only Spring Fling is a fun new event you won’t want to miss! The Art Center is planning a fun filled afternoon for ladies of all ages. The ticketed event will feature many local vendors of women’s products where they will demonstrate their products and/or give samples of their wares for our guests to enjoy while they stroll the galleries. For the entry fee of $25, participants will receive 20 tickets with which to purchase short massages, try new products (make-up, lotions, etc.), or create a gift (bracelets, printed cards, etc.). |

Photos, newsreels, and personal items document the story. The exhibition will be in the main lobby of AMSE.

A two hour horse drawn wagon ride to the river is included. The wagon holds 8 people but the group may be of any size. The 4-hour ride with lunch or afternoon snack covers the same area but allows time for the snack and for a stroll along the river and bluff. |

This program will acquaint participants with the identification, natural history and folklore of over 30 different kinds of spring wildflowers. At 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., join the park staff on the River Bluff Trail, for a three mile hike and at 2 p.m. at the Lower Clear Creek Trail. |

The event takes place at the Coal Creek OHV Area which consists of over 72,000 acres of off-road adventure for the entire family with many picturesque views of East Tennessee’s mountains and valleys. |

The shops on Market and Main Street will be open late and food vendors will be set up in Hoskins-Lane Park. On Saturday, May 7th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., over 90 exhibitors from East Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina and Ohio will offer a wide range of antiques and collectibles to suit every taste. Knoxville antique appraiser Scott Bishop will be available to appraise your personal treasures on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 pm under the big tent in the Hoskins/Lane Park. Each item brought for an appraisal will cost $5. A wide selection of foods from local vendors will be available all day. |

| Thru September 11 | Cold War Crisis: The U-2 Incident This traveling exhibition details the story of Francis Gary Powers, a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, who completed twenty seven U-2 photographic reconnaissance missions for the CIA, including several over flights of the Soviet Union, until shot down by a Soviet surface-to-air missile on May 1, 1960. Powers, an American, was subsequently convicted of being a spy and was held in a Russian prison until February 11, 1962, when he was dramatically exchanged for a Soviet spy Colonel Rudolph Abel, in the first Cold War spy exchange. Photos, newsreels, and personal items document the story. The exhibition will be in the main lobby of AMSE.
